Goal #1

 

Increase the number of students reading at grade level and insure that every student makes at least a year’s progress in reading.

 

Activity #1:     Insure effective Literacy instruction is available to all students Pre-K through Grade 12.

 

Activity #2:     Provide staff training in Literacy instruction.

 

Activity #3:     Continue to use data to inform instruction.

 

 

 

Goal #2

 

Assess the efficiency of the Cony/CATC Campus.

 

Activity #1:     Convene a Task Force to examine staffing, services, programs offered, and   other areas pertinent to inform the achievement of the school.

 

Activity #2:     To examine all areas of the School Department for efficiencies, including                         partnerships with the City of Augusta and collaboration with other     communities.

 

 

 

Goal #3

 

Address the Hussey and Hodgkins Facilities through the Capital Improvement process available through the Department of Education.

 

Activity #1:     Prepare an application for the Department of Education        Facilities Team to                         review for both Hussey and Hodgkins.

 

Activity #2:     Rank sufficiently high enough on the School Construction Priority List            to                         achieve funding in the next rating cycle.

Goal #4

 

Improve student performance at the Middle Level, Grades 7-8.

 

Activity #1:     Examine student achievement data for Grades 7-8 and compare to State and                         National norms.

 

Activity #2:     Study the Middle School Math curriculum and student achievement to                         address academic rigor and ensure that students meet standards as    identified by the State of Maine.

 

Activity #3:     Address student transition between Grades 6 and 7 and 8 and 9.

 

Activity #4:     Provide remediation where necessary to students not at grade level.

 

 

 

Goal #5

 

Examine and expand alternative programming offerings for students.

 

Activity #1:     Expand the number of opportunities for students to pursue Virtual High                         School, College, and 16 to 20-year-old students at risk of dropping out of                         school.
