This is a continuation of the Accounting I course. Utilizing the same text, this course covers chapters 18 through 26 and such topics as: Departmentalized Purchases (including Purchases Returns and Discounts), Sales (including Sales Returns and Discounts); Uncollectible Accounts Receivable; Depreciation; Inventory accounting methods; accounting for notes payable/receivable and interest; accrued revenue and expenses. This course starts with a review of the first semester through the completion of an accounting simulation. This course covers all principles in both manual and automated (computerized) formats.

INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS

You will be introduced to the basic computer terminology, a computer operating system, and application software. This course will enable you to work independently on a personal computer with beginning skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. KEYBOARDING I & II

Learn how to type using Windows XP and Microsoft Word for Windows software. The first half of the semester will focus on learning the keyboard and basic computer functions; while the second half will focus on typing tests and building speed and accuracy. Introduction to Excel 2003 provides students with the fundamental skills that are necessary to use Excel 2003 on a daily basis in their workplace or at home. The course includes an introduction to electronic spreadsheets and how they are used, the difference between text, numbers, and calculations in Excel, creating and using formulas, right and wrong ways to enter a formula (and why), copying and pasting, drag-and-drop editing, formatting, printing, working with columns and rows, absolute references, and an introduction to charts. This course will
teach you how Excel thinks and enable you to understand the framework of the program enough to be able to use it and solve problems independently. Basic knowledge of computers and keyboarding required. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.

Intermediate/Advanced Excel 2003 provides students with more advanced spreadsheet skills. This 7-week course includes advanced formulas and functions, charting, using databases, working with multiple worksheets and workbooks, using HTML files, range names, labels in formulas, drawing objects and auto shapes, PivotTables, using forms, importing data, and creating macros. This course will give students the tools to perform a broad range of tasks and be able to discover solutions to problems independently. This course builds on the skills learned in the Microsoft Excel - Beginner course. Basic knowledge of computers and keyboarding required. In this hands-on class, you will learn file management (have you ever created a file and then had no idea where it got saved - you need this class!) Learn how to create, format, view, print and save documents. Did you know there are three ways to select text? Come learn the secrets to selecting text, allowing you to edit and do so much more to your documents and do it quicker. Learn to copy/move and switch between multiple documents, learn page setups, margins, tabs, indenting, justification, how to insert page breaks, page numbering, insert a document into your current document, use automatic numbering and bullets, line spacing, working with headers/footers, section breaks, basic tables, columns and graphics.
