AUTO BODY - BASIC

JOHNSON, STEPHEN

This is an introductory course that takes you through the steps necessary to repair and paint an auto. In this class you will learn the use of shop tools, body filling, masking, priming, basic metal straightening, brazing, and paint preparation. The class will include classroom instruction and shop work on student vehicles. Masking paper and tape will be furnished. Students will be responsible for remaining supplies.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT COURSE

HALL, IDA R.N., BSN

The CNA course is a 200 hour course consisting of classroom, lab, and clinical instruction in an area health care facility. This course meets the Maine State Board of Nursing requirements. Successful completion of this course and passing the State of Maine CNA competency exam will qualify an assistant to work in a hospital, rehabilitation facility, clinic, or home health care. A reading assessment is required to show English reading proficiency at the time of the admission interview. An applicant should bring an application, resume, and two references to the interview. Upon acceptance to the CNA program, an applicant must have a background check. Classes will be held Thursdays and Fridays during the day. Call 626-2470 for more information.

SERV-SAFE CERTIFICATION COURSE

ARBOUR, VALERIE

This is an accredited food safety course. Serv-Safe is nationally recognized training for the Health and Hospitality industry. After taking this course you will have the appropriate skills and knowledge in food safety and food hygiene. Over the six weeks, we will study the serv-safe text, learn to calibrate thermometers, watch several sanitation films, and finish with the Serv-Safe test on the last week. Who should take this course? People who work in: Food businesses, food industry, nursing homes, hotels, hospitals, restaurants, cafes, etc.; and childcare centers/canteens. After passing your Serv-Safe test you will receive your Serv-Safe certification.

WELDING BASICS

This course is designed for those who have had no previous welding experience. Each class will include approximately 45 minutes of theory and safety training and 2 hours of hands-on experience. The principles of arc and oxy-fuel welding will be discussed.
