BEGINNING KNITTING

Learn
the basics of knitting. You will learn how to cast on and bind off stitches as
well as a few basic stitches. Learn how to decrease and increase your stitches
and how to pick up that lost stitch. A simple project such as a dish cloth or
scarf will be the focus. Students will need to bring a skein of worsted
weight yarn and 1 pair of size 8 needles (9-10" long).

INTRODUCTION TO SILVER JEWELRY

Come learn the basics of making silver jewelry such as earrings and/or bracelets. Students will need some basic tools, such as basic jewelry pliers of varying types, etc. The instructor will provide some to purchase. Bring your creative instincts and any beads that are special to you and learn how to make your own beautiful and unique jewelry. This course is limited to 8 students. Please be prepared to pay the instructor $20 for materials at the class.

SILVER JEWELRY MAKING

Learn a unique method of creating silver jewelry. We'll be using 99.9% pure silver clay (won't tarnish!) to create stunning earrings, pendants and rings. Molds will be found in every day items. Please be prepared to pay the instructor $50 for supplies at the first class.

ACRYLIC PAINTING

Learn about the materials of acrylic painting and how to create what you want with them. The focus will be on the versatility of the medium. We will be painting on various surfaces including papers, wood, and canvas using various techniques of priming, glazing, texturing and whatever one would be inspired to do - all in informal, hands-on sessions where students are encouraged to be artists with their own vision and expression. Subject matter is personal, so bring what objects or pictures you need to help yourself create your statement in acrylic. Students at any level of ability are welcome.
