Possibilities after graduation from CATC:

 

Many of Maine's community colleges offer certificates and/or diplomas in Machine Tool Technology.

There are lots of good jobs for machinists in Maine. 

Taking Machine Tool Technology will give you exposure to the "hands-on" part of engineering.

Machinists make good money.

A career in machining  offers a lot of variety.  You can work with metals, with plastics, in an automotive shop, on huge fabrications such as steam turbines or make tiny parts for medical implants.

There are lots of avenues for advancement as a machinist.  Depending on where you work, you can become a foreman, you can become a machine programmer, you can estimate costs, you can improve productivity, you can plan jobs, you can continue your education.....
