Diversified Occupations - Human Services
Program Overview

Our morning Human Services Program offers the student a hands-on-experience in our school cafeteria preparing the daily school lunch and experiencing some integration with the Culinary Arts program. Students in the afternoon program focus on life and career skills through a number of activities. These trips include but are not limited to community based field trips to various locations such as Shaws, Maine Veterans Home, Maine General Medical Center Cafeteria, etc.
Wellness activities are also part of our program. Some of these socialization activities include daily walks, basketball, and participation at the KVYMCA.
Human Services has a new focus on Literacy that was introduced in 2006-07. Our activities will include daily work journals and group reading.
Students are assessed on daily work performance and participation. The Human Services program strives to meet each student’s individual needs. Diversified Occupations is a program for students with documented learning disabilities.
