The Dancing Chorus...
Out of the olio concept, the Chizzle Wizzle Dancing Chorus was born with early shows featuring small, frequently co-ed groups of performers. The Dancing Chorus as we know it today was clearly in place by the 25th anniversary of Chizzle Wizzle when a group of six young ladies, with an official director, performed the “Dance of the Moon Maidens.”
Being selected a member of the prestigious dancing chorus is the dream of many little girls in Augusta from the moment they don their first tap shoes. In a number of families the dancing chorus tradition spans generations.
Our Dancing Chorus is to Augusta, Maine, what the Rockettes are to New York City. Dancers spend many hours perfecting a routine that invariably thrills audiences. Perhaps this is why the Dancing Chorus is always billed last on the Olio program; it would be a hard act to follow.
