$ense for Kids Program

The $ense for Kids program is a charitable organization which is primarily funded through donations from the Augusta School Department staff.  The program has two purposes:  Social Service Grants and Academic Grants. 

Social Service Grants recognize that some of our students need help before they are ready to learn.  For example:  necessary clothing, school supplies, appropriate footwear, summer camp scholarships, and even food.

  Academic Grants provide funds for educators to offer special programs or projects to enhance their classrooms.  This type of grant has provided band instruments, guest speakers, special art projects, etc.

$ense for Kids also organizes a Christmas program where area businesses “adopt” one or more families identified by the schools, and then purchase and wrap needed items and gifts for them.  Without these businesses, most of these families wouldn’t have a Christmas!
