2009-2010 School Year
December 2009: Just before our winter vacation, Farrington students braved the cold to ring bells to raise money for the Salvation Army. Students also volunteered at the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen. Volunteering at the soup kitchen is something that Farrington students take part in every Friday, not just during the holidays.

December 2009: For a holiday "giving back" project, the sixth grade classes collected and delivered food and supplies to the local animal shelter.
December 2009: Farrington students recently held a Penny Drive to raise money for the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. On Friday, Dec. 4th, Key Club members went room to room to pick up the pennies that had been collected. A total of $1074.57 was collected. A check was presented to a representative from the Alfond Center on January 5, 2010.

Thank you students, teachers, and families for all you donated. We can
make a positive difference in this world!
The four classes pictured* below were the top penny collectors. Mrs. Crummett's sixth grade class was the top collector for the upper grades , and Mrs. Locsin's second grade class was the top collector for the lower grades. Mrs. Crummett's class was also the top collector for the entire school.

October 2009: Farrington students collected non-perishable food items, disposable diapers and other toiletry items during the week of Oct. 18th. On Friday, students "stuffed" all of the collected items into a truck, bound for Bread of Life Ministries homeless shelter, food pantry and/or soup kitchen. We would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to all of you who donated to this worthy cause. Your good work will help those in need.
