Take a tourofFarrington School! |
Our school serves the population of southeast Augusta. Farrington School opened its doors in September of 1988, replacing a small neighborhood school and incorporating many students from another neighborhood school, as boundaries were shifted.
Farrington school meets the varied needs of its students with a noteworthy gifted and talented program; an ESL program; a special education program, consisting of a resource room and a self-contained classroom, and a centrally-located library/media center and computer lab.
Student self-esteem and pride are prevalent topics at Farrington. Its nationally-recognized Project Pride, a program for at-risk students, gives students Pride cards for showing a spirit of helpfulness and pride in their school.
Farrington School is privileged to be one of the few elementary schools in the state with a civil rights team. We are part of the Maine Attorney General's Office pilot project. The civil rights team plays a big part in making our school a safe and welcoming place for all students. The civil rights team leads students in many educational assemblies and presentations that help students embrace diversity.
