iBook Information Night

December 4, 2006

 

6:00 – 6:30 pm – All in the auditorium

  • Mr. Boston:  Welcome.  Discuss parent packet and Internet connection available for home use (Free/Reduced Eligibility).  In addition, discuss sign out procedures (Unable to take home if not going directly home.)  iBook take home procedures.
  • Mrs. Good:  Will explain her role as Teacher Leader for MLTI
  • Mrs. Casparius:  Will explain her role and parent internet viewer.
  • Mrs. Crochere:  Will explain her role as iBook Manager
  • Mr. Jurdak:  Will explain the insurance segment
  • Questions & Answers

 

 

6:30 – 7:30 pm – Parents go to classrooms

Staff will demonstrate:

  • Discuss improper use of iBooks and consequences
  • Components – iBook, Power adapter, battery, case, cabinets
  • Checking battery
  • Connecting/removing adapter.  Explain the orange and green light.
  • Care of the computer – Keep from heat and cold

Do not use any cleaner on the screen.  If the iBook needs to be cleaned please have your child notify Mrs. Crochere

  • Open it.  Turn it on.  Logging in
  • Touch pad – mouse – button
  • Dock – Review icons on dock.  Discuss hiding features.
  • Scavenger Hunt – Applications
  • Printing possibilities
  • Logging out completely.  Shutting Down
  • Troubleshooting tips – Force Quitting applications, Shutting down if computer freezes
