Mr. Flannery reported on winter sports;  participated in the Annual International Fun Fest;  Chizzle Wizzle theme is “Out of this World”; photojournalist presentation on the Syrian war;  Cony National Honor Society inducted new members;  all City Concert is December 13 at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center; students participated in the Thomas Cup;  Mr. Hinds was invited to speak at the Seeds of Peace National Symposium in Washington, D.C.

      17.  Assistant Superintendent’s Report:

  Ms. Madore reported that truancy letters were sent out; a consultant from the Center for Collaborative Classroom provided professional development for teachers and elementary principals;  preparing for an early release on January 18.

 

      18.  Superintendent’s Report:

 Mr. Anastasio reported on the Department of Education school report cards;  the Governor elect’s appointment of a new Commissioner of Education; in-house budget work continues; working on the 2019-2020 school calendar and suggestions on how to make up snow days.

 

      19.  Reports from Other School Officials:

Teresa Beaudoin, principal of Farrington Elementary school, reported that report cards went out last week;  All City Concert is tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center;  fifth and sixth grade band students performed in their buildings;  Farrington box top shop;  K Club collected and donated 140 coats for the Coats for Kids Campaign.
