3.  Pledge of Allegiance:

4.  Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent Reports:

Mr. Anastasio thanked the Board for approving a fully remote week following Thanksgiving.  He gave an update on information provided by Administrators on where they are in relation to the impact of COVID-19 on staff and on the ability to run their buildings.  He said the staff is worried about the virus, their colleagues and the possible impact on them and their families and so the stress level is high.  There is constant discussion among area superintendents and DOE on how to relieve stress on staff.  There is also some discussion about having two weeks of remote instruction after Christmas because of the incubation period of COVID-19.  Cases are increasing and experts expect it to continue. Students would return to the hybrid model on January 19.  Since the increase in COVID cases, more students are opting for remote learning both at the elementary and secondary levels.  Mr. Anastasio recommended that schools go fully remote December 17 through January 19 and start December vacation on December 21 instead of December 23.

Motion to add a motion under “New Business” section to support the recommendation of going

fully remote starting December 17 and ending January 19 and for December vacation to

commence December 21 instead of December 23.

Move to add a motion under “New Business” section to support the recommendation of going fully remote starting December 17 and ending January 19 and for December vacation to commence December 21 instead of December 23.
