1.  Comprehensive needs assessment presentation
          Attachment 1

Donna Madore, Assistant Superintendent, said the Department of Education has requested all schools who receive federal funds to complete a comprehensive needs assessment and to develop an improvement plan.  The data in the plan was pulled from each of the building principals and consolidated into one document.  The document must be submitted to the DOE by July 1st.  The Comprehensive Needs Assessment Plan will replace the Comprehensive Education Plan and has to be reviewed annually.  The committee discussed the plan and the data.

2.  District Learning Technology Plan
          Attachment 2

Ms. Madore said the Department of Education requires that a Technology plan be completed every three years.  A committee was formed and there was great discussion about where the district is going with technology.  The plan covers all schools and CATC.  The survey BrightBytes, which the DOE wanted to use and had to be part of the plan, was sent to all staff and students to complete to gather information.  The data showed good scores in some areas and areas that need work.  Overall the district received a proficiency score.  The survey showed a need for improvement in teacher use of technology related to communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity and assistant technology assessment and professional learning.  Areas of strength were belief, student multimedia skills, teachers at school, student foundations skills, students at home, teacher foundational skills, students at school, teachers at home and student’s online skills.  The Technology Committee wants to meet monthly and move to the next step which is to look at implementation and effectiveness.  Cost for training and creation of digital mentorships will come from the MLTI grant.

Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
