- Literacy Specialist Coach Evaluation System
Motion by Kimberly Martin to move forward to the board the Literacy Specialist Coach Evaluation System for approval. Second by Edward Hastings, so moved 3-0.
- Social Worker Job Description
Motion by Kimberly Martin to accept the Social Worker job description. Second by Deborah Towle, so moved 3-0.
- Raise recommendation for non-represented employees
Motion by Kimberly Martin to move forward to the board raise recommendation for non-represented employees. Second by Edward Hastings, so moved 3-0.
- Teacher Retention
Edward Hastings had requested some information on teacher retention. Donna Madore passed out staff retention data from the past three school years and it was discussed. Ms. Madore said we have longevity with our 200 plus teachers. More than half have over twenty years’ experience. Kim Martin said Augusta’s turnover rate at approximately 10% is below the state average.
- Exit Survey Discussion
Donna Madore said she researched policy and did not see anything regarding exit surveys. Within the past three years, employees leaving were offered exit interview surveys, however, at some point it was discontinued. There were only 2 who filled out the questionnaire and both were positive. Jim Anastasio said we will continue to offer every employee an opportunity to fill out the exit survey paperwork and meet with them if they choose to. Edward Hastings said it could be a positive as opposed to a negative perception.
