The committee reviewed and discussed items A – H.  Motion by Pia Holmes to accept job descriptions A – H, second by Kevin Lamoreau, so moved 2-0.

 

The committee reviewed and discussed the Payroll Coordinator job description.  Motion by Kevin Lamoreau to amend the job description title to Payroll Clerk, second by Pia Holmes, so moved 2-0.

 

Motion by Pia Holmes to accept the Payroll Clerk job description as amended, second by Kevin Lamoreau, so moved 2-0.

Donna Madore, Assistant Superintendent said the General Education Intervention Education Technician III job description was and vetted by the Augusta Education Association, the four people in that position (formerly Project Pride), principals and assistant superintendent.  Motion by Kevin Lamoreau to amend the job description to spell out to Response to Intervention in the first bullet and abbreviate it in the 8th bullet and accept it as revised, second by Pia Holmes, so move 2-0.

 

Motion by Pia Holmes to accept the Pre-kindergarten teacher job description as written, second by Kevin Lamoreau, so moved 2-0.

 

            2.  Finger Printing/Background Checks – Board Role

Ms. Madore said this item was added to the agenda because board member McCormick had questions regarding credentialing of education personnel.  Ms. Madore explained that when the ASD hires somebody they have to have a criminal history records check per regulations.  This requirement comes from the DOE and not the ASD.  Once a criminal history records check is done and the DOE has concerns, they can choose not to issue a CHRC. The DOE does not divulge to the ASD their reasons for not issuing a CHRC. Every school employee must renew their CHRC certificate every five years.
