PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING

June 4, 2018

Donna Madore, Assistant Superintendent, went over the comparisons between a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and explained the scope of their licenses and practices.  Either positions would be paid on a teacher salary scale.  She explained the options and comparisons for billing MaineCare for services and also explained how MaineCare Seed works.  She is also working with the Office of MaineCare Services to establish a school health clinic for Augusta schools.

 

2.  Augusta School Department professional development and part-time staff professional

     development

 

Board member Holmes brought a concern regarding a half-time teachers not being allowed to participate in a full day of professional development in district.  Mr. Anastasio said that was not correct.  Half-time teachers are paid for a half day but they are welcome/encouraged to stay for the full day of professional development.

 

3.  Review FJA document revision recommendations – superintendent recommendations

     and committee recommendations

Mr. Anastasio said the attached document was used and completed by the business manager, assistant superintendent and superintendent.  It was made more user friendly and some items were changed to reflect the Augusta School Department.  The form would be completed by employees and submitted to the superintendent and if board members had specific questions about a position, the superintendent would provide the information to board members.  Administrators asked clarifying questions about completing the form.

 

Motion to adjourn by Tom Connors and reconvene the Personnel Committee at a later time, second by April Cusick, so moved 2-0.

             superintendent’s job reflection.
