FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

AGENDA ITEMS DISCUSSED:

 

  1. Food & drink in Cony gym.  Administrators at Cony have allowed some food and drink in gym.  Overall community has responded favorably, with many carrying out their refuse.  Since allowed has increased the custodial clean up by approx. three man hours.  Dan Bowers said that during games there are announcements asking those attending to help keep our new building clean.  Booster members have supported Administration and do appreciate the gesture.  They too will ask community members to help keep our new facility clean and safe.

 

  1. Financial statements.  James Jurdak reviewed the statements for the four months ended December 31, 2006.  James informed the Committee that at this date there are no areas within the budget of concern.  Statements, agendas and minutes of the Finance Committee may be viewed on line at http://www.augustaschools.org/schboard/schoolboardopen.htm

 

  1. Illumination easement new softball field.  John Pucciarelli shared with the committee a draft of an easement from the owners of the Stiman property.  The City’s attorney has reviewed.  Committee read and had some questions, John will contact the City with the questions and this item will be discussed at the Committee’s February meeting.

 

  1. Other:

 

    1. Road signs for new high school.  Bill Burney asked about signs.  Road sign bid will be opened soon.
    2. Building sign on new high school.  Bill and Sue Dowling asked about a sign on the high school.
    3. Percent for art.  Bill asked Derek Grant the status.  Derek mentioned that there is a meeting scheduled in the next few weeks.  The process will commence from the beginning.  He will keep the Committee updated on the progress at future meetings.
