ACCOUNTING I - PART I

This is beginning instruction for accounting. The course covers sole proprietorships and partnerships in a 5 journal, 3 ledger accounting system. All accounting principles (including journalizing in the 5 journals; posting to the general and subsidiary ledgers; adjusting and closing entries at the end of a fiscal period; financial statement preparation of balance sheets, owners' equity statements, and income statements; cash control systems; and payroll accounting are presented. The course covers the first 17 chapters of the Accounting I text. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.

Need English skills for the use in an office setting, well then this is the course for you!  Areas of instruction focus on punctuation, vocabulary, grammar, capitalization, spelling, letter formatting, writing, and set-up.  Hands-on reinforcement exercises in the computer lab with the assistance of support technology will allow students to apply today's business concepts in a future office setting.  This course may be used toward the Office Skills  Certificate Program.

You will be introduced to the basic computer terminology, a computer operating system, and application software.  This course will enable you to work independently on a personal computer with beginning skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.  Typing skill is an advantage but not a requirement for this course.  This course may be used toward the Secretarial Certificate Program.

Learn how to type using Windows XP and Microsoft Word for Windows software.  You will focus on learning the keyboard and basic computer functions and then build speed and accuracy.  Students may develop a resume as part of the class.  Work at your own pace and get the skills needed in today's computer age.  This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.

In this hands-on class, you will learn the fundamentals of Word 2010 to improve your productivity in word processing and desktop publishing. Some topics for this course include, but are not limoted to: format, page setup, switch between multiple documents, bullets, automatic numbering, line spacing, headers & footers, breaks, tables, columns, inserting graphics, mail merge, macros, customizing toolbars, etc. A base speed of 20 wpm in addition to a previous experience in using computers is beneficial. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.
