Students will gain a fundamental understanding of space and how it can be defined to benefit their life. Through lecture, demonstration, example, evaluation, and discussion, as well as exercises in architectural design, students will begin to understand the importance of good design in the built environment as well as learning some basic methods of architectural design. CROCHETING FOR BEGINNERS

Whether you've never held a skein of yarn before or you learned to crochet years ago and need a refresher, this class is for you! Students will learn about tools and basic crochet stitches including chains and single crochet! Please bring one skein of worsted medium-weight yarn (such as the Red Heart brand), a size G (7) crochet hook, a yarn needle, and scissors to the first class.

MAKE AND TAKE GIFTS WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

Maybe you've been hearing about essential oils and are curious, or you just like finding ways to make gifts for others or things to use at home for yourself. Join me for an evening that will be fun and informative! Learn about essential oils, how they're made, and all the ways they can be used from making our houses smell good to replacing beauty products to supporting our physical and emotional health. You'll get to make a couple of goodies and get the recipes to make more! These are easy to make and are great to use for yourself or give as gifts for teachers, friends, family, and others. We'll be making fragrant bath salts that double as shower bombs and room sprays. We'll also make an all-natural cleaner to use around the house. I'll have some additional easy recipes for you to take with you.

PETS AND ESSENTIAL OILS

Have you been hearing about essential oils being used for wellness and wondered whether they can also be used for your dogs, cats, or horses? Learn about essential oils, the different qualities, how they're made, and all the ways they can be used to help our four-legged furries. We'll cover it all - from helping calm anxiety to homemade repellents for them, and most importantly, information for safely using the oils with our pets. You will make a pest repellent spray and some all-natural cleaner for around the house to take home. I'll include additional pet-friendly recipes.

SEWING SIMPLIFIED

This class is for the beginner or intermediate student. Students will learn machine basics: threading, bobbins, and types of stitching available on the sewing machine. Instructions will be given on the use of patterns. Intermediate students will have more time to further develop basic skills. This is a good opportunity to make a wedding present for a spring wedding, a shower present for a new baby, or the latest spring fashion. You may bring your own machine or use a classroom machine. Class limited to six students.

SILVER JEWELRY MAKING
HARTWELL, PENNY
Learn a unique method of creating silver jewelry. We'll be using 99.9% pure silver (won't tarnish!) to create stunning earrings, pendants and rings. Molds will be found in every day items. Please be prepared to pay the instructor $65 for supplies at the first class. NOTE: Please register by April 10th. The instructor needs to order the materials two weeks in advance if enough students are registered.
