TRADITIONAL CHAIR CANING
SPENCER, ROBIN
Many people recognize the beauty of a caned chair. Yet the art of caning has almost become obsolete. Let's learn how. Caning a chair requires seven simple steps using basic tools. Please be willing to take your chair home to finish a step then move onto the next one in class. A small chair with the holes for caning is suggested. At the end of class, you will have that unique chair you caned yourself. Please bring your chair free of cane. The instructor will bring everything needed for the first class. Students will then be asked to bring in their own basic tools. The instructor will have the cane and extras for purchase at class.
