located at the Kennebec Learning CenterWe are located at 33 Union Street in Augusta. It is adjacent to Capitol Park in the same building as the Police Department and Housing Authority. The classes are located on the first floor and are barrier free. Parking is available in the lot to the left of the building.
We offer educational opportunities from college preparation to literacy skills. Our classrooms provide a warm and inviting learning environment with small classes and individual learning levels. Course fees are based on your program enrollment. Please call 626-2470 to schedule an appointment with our counselor for classroom placement and registration.
Reading, Writing and Number Skills for College classes provide the academic skills to enter a community college. We also offer the academic entrance placement assessment (Accuplacer).
Our flexible and multi-level math classes offer individuals the opportunity to brush up on their current skills in the areas from basic computation through Pre-Calculus. The instruction includes textbook and on-line academic software.
You can learn, improve, or maintain your skills in one of our computer classes. We offer Basic Computers, Introduction to Microsoft Office, Introduction to Computers for College or the Workplace, and Microsoft Excel 2010..
HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION
Adults who want to earn their high school diploma have an option to enroll in day classes. The first step is to make an appointment for the Reading and Math Casas Assessment and then schedule a time to meet with Karen Drinkuth our counselor. She will discuss your goals, learning styles, and develop a plan for your high school completion.
ENGLISH SPEAKERS of OTHER LANGUAGES (ESOL)
If English is not your first language or you want to improve your current speaking skills and knowledge, we offer classes from non-speaking to advance. The ESOL software program Rosetta Stone is also available to individuals.
