My name is Heather Murdough and I am so excited for the upcoming school year! Kindergarten is such an important time for students and the growth that is made from the fall to the spring is truly remarkable. I strongly believe in creating a positive and safe environment where the students feel comfortable and to create lots of opportunities for creativity and socialization. Kindergarten is packed with material and curriculum… but who says learning can’t be fun??!
This will be my first year teaching at Farrington. I was born and raised in New Hampshire and recently moved to Maine. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Castleton University in 2014 and a Master’s of Education from New England College in 2017. I previously taught Kindergarten at a private school in New Hampshire and am eager to begin teaching in a public school this year!
In my free time I enjoy photography, sports, and almost all outdoor activities. In addition to teaching, I previously coached college basketball for the past four years. When March comes around you can expect to see the classroom door decorated as well as the classroom with March Madness themed material. Sports has allowed me to view life as a team sport. What one student does has an effect on his/her peers. I also believe home and school communication is essential. For a child’s academic career to be successful it is always helpful when parents/guardians and teachers work together! I look forward to creating our 2018-2019 team!
