Sandy Belanger, Dean of Students

Mrs. Belanger - Dean of Students

·         I am the Dean of Students at Hussey School. Many people wonder what a Dean does?  My responsibility is student and teacher support. At Hussey much of that support comes through our RTI - Response to Intervention - Team. This team collaborates and brainstorms ideas and interventions to help students become more successful academically, socially and behaviorally. Parents are a HUGE part of this team to help your child and we all welcome your input and participation in the process!

·         I am a proud Cony High School graduate - go RAMS! I graduated from UMF with a dual certification in Speech/Language and Elementary Education. I received my Master's Degree in education from UNE and later did professional coursework in Educational Leadership.

·         I worked initially in the Hall-Dale Schools as a speech clinician and then happily moved to Hussey School to teach 3rd grade and then 3rd grade at Farrington School. When I wanted more of a challenge I became the Dean of Students at Farrington. After a few years of 'sharing' me as a Dean, Hussey is my full time home!

·         I love Hussey School and the family atmosphere of being a Hussey Bear. I find tremendous satisfaction with helping students problem solve and make great choices and decisions. I love to see how proud they are when they know that their hard work has paid off and they are making gains! It is the best feeling in the world!
