Amanda Mills- Title I Literacy Special

Welcome to Lincoln Title I

My name is Amanda Mills. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1999. From there my career in education began as a resource room teacher supporting students with learning disabilities. As a special education teacher over the years, I worked primarily with students struggling with reading and writing at both the elementary and middle school levels. In 2006, I earned a Master’s Degree in Literacy from the University of Southern Maine and three years later, when a grant opened up the expansion of Augusta's Title I program into grades 4-6, I jumped at the opportunity. Initially my time was divided between the 4th-6th grade populations at Hussey and Lincoln Schools, but now I'm currently the Title I teacher working with students in grades K through 6 at Lincoln School. In addition this year, I will also be supporting the 1st-2nd grades at St. Michael's School.
