Donna Foster- Gifted and Talented

Greetings! My name is Donna Foster and I am the gifted and talented teacher for grades K-6 (although I primarily work with students in grades 4, 5, and 6)! This is my 19th year in education and my first year working with gifted and talented students! I have spent the majority of my career in MSAD 49 (Fairfield) as a grade 4 teacher, a grade 5 teacher, and more recently, as a district math coach. I am a proud graduate of the University of Maine, which is where I earned my bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Certificate of Advanced Studies. When not teaching, I can be found hiking, gardening, reading, or hanging out with my two goldendoodles (one of which is a certified therapy dog)! This year I am excited to be working with the wonderful students and staff of the Augusta School Department!

The Augusta School Department screens all students for gifted and talented services at the end of third grade. Student are selected by a team of staff who examine the scores with no names attached. Students in other grades can also be referred by their teacher, their parents, or even themselves! If you have any questions about the gifted and talented program or the screening process, you can reach me at donna.foster@augustaschools.org.
