Mrs. Wroten

Sixth Grade

student teaching 20152016-17
Welcome to Sixth Grade!

My name is Kathryn Wroten, and this is my second year teaching!  Originally from San Diego, California, I moved to Maine with my husband shortly after we were married. While I miss  my family, friends and, of course, the sunny Southern California weather, I love the Maine lifestyle and couldn't imagine a better place to live and raise my children.

I have always wanted to teach and after a lot of hard work I have finally been able to realize that dream. I completed my student teaching in the Augusta School District at Lincoln and Gilbert Elementary Schools, and feel so fortunate to now be a part of the Lincoln community.  Although I am a relatively new teacher, I am not what you might expect from a recently-graduated teacher.  I have the maturity and life experience that few young teachers possess, having already enjoyed a successful professional career as a paralegal and legal secretary, as well as having raised children of my own.  Still, I have all the energy and enthusiasm of a much younger teacher.  It is my hope to kindle a passion for learning in my students and to instill in them a deep sense of empathy and compassion for others by setting an example through my own love of learning and in the way I treat those around me.  I consider it both an honor and a privilege to be your child's teacher.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year.  The best way to reach me is by email:
kathryn.wroten@augustaschools.org, or you can leave a message for me at (207) 626-2483 ext 3912.  I will return your call as soon as possible.
