I am Andrea Bretschneider a fifth grade teacher at Gilbert Elementary. In 2012, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on my masters degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from the University of Maine Orono. Teaching students in various settings and curriculum has been a passion of mine since high school. I am proud to consider myself among the admirable staff and community of Gilbert Elementary.
As you can see, I have links to the side of my page. The following are descriptions of each link, and how I use them in my classroom.
Homework: I have linked a word document, which has a typical week of homework in my classroom. This can be a great tool for connecting me with the families of my students.
Portaportal: Our class has a portaportal website that has links to games that apply to what we are learning.
There are also a district wide Portaportal account. Each Portaportal account is a way to share top-notch online educational resources.
IXL Math: IXL is a site that students can go on and practice many math skills. The math is a fun and educational way for students to get in math practice at home and at school.
- The best way to reach me is by email or through the student agenda.
- Students should bring their agendas to school everyday. We take time after recess to write down our homework, and I sign off that the information they have written is correct.
