Pre-K Program

Welcome to the Augusta School’s Pre-K Program

Due to COVID-19, we will be altering our program for the 20-21 school year.  We will have a 4 half- day program on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  We will not offer a remote option unless the whole school is doing remote learning full-time.  Please see our Gilbert School home page for more information regarding the 2020 - 2021 school year.

Our teachers believe that all students can reach high levels of learning. We employ the Tools of the Mind curriculum in our early childhood classrooms by encouraging self-regulation. Our program honors and respects children and empowers them to: develop their own unique personality and sense of self; learn at their own pace given instruction in their individual zone of proximal development; use interactive play; learn in a dynamic setting fostering intellectual challenges, explore, investigate and make mistakes; build strong, positive relationships with others; develop and demonstrate empathy and caring for others; and foster a love for learning!

We promote a love of learning through half-day sessions. Children age 4 are enrolled in either the a.m. (8:00-11:00) or the p.m. (12:00-2:45) session. We currently have three classroom teachers who work in partnership with a classroom ed tech. All teachers are trained in the Tools of the Mind program.

Each day begins with a bus ride to school. Children are asked to sit near the front of the bus and seat belts are required. In order to ensure your child’s safety, teachers receive children at school and parents are expected to meet their child getting off the bus when returning home.

If you wish to sign your child up for the Pre-K program, please call us here at Gilbert School 626-2491. We look forward to meeting you and your child.
