Sue Dionne, Principal

I have served as an educator in Maine for the past 38 years. I am in my eleventh year as the principal of Gilbert School. I was named principal of Sylvio J. Gilbert School in 2007, after serving as assistant principal and dean of students at Farrington Elementary School from 2005 – 2007. Before becoming an administrator, I taught various grade levels starting in 1979. When I was a teacher at Farrington School I taught kindergarten, second, and third grades.  Prior to coming to Augusta I taught third, fourth, seventh, and eighth grades in two different school districts.

I obtained both my Bachelor in Science degree in Child Development and Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Maine at Orono.

When I am not at Gilbert School my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. I live with my husband and our labradoodle Rosie. We have two grown daughters and son-in-laws. I recently became a grandmother twice in 2017. I now have a grandson and a granddaughter. As a family we enjoy spending time at our camp creating wonderful memories.

I am passionate about serving the students, parents, and staff at Gilbert School and feel privileged to be part of the Gilbert School family.
