Hello! My name is Lindsey Dos Santos. This is my 14th year teaching in Augusta. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Maine in Orono in 2004 and I received my master's degree in reading and literacy through Walden University in 2015. I have taught at Farrington and Lincoln schools in Augusta, and am now teaching at Hussey, which is where I started my career years ago. This is my 3rd year teaching 5th grade. Prior to the change to 5th grade, I taught kindergarten for 4 years, and 2nd grade for 6 years, and I did one year in 1st grade. I live here, in Augusta, with my two children and our two cats, Boxer and Roo.
My mission is to create an environment where all students feel empowered to try their very best, where giving up is not an option for them, and all students feel like an integral part of the class no matter their ability level, socioeconomic status, or undefined barriers to learning. My mission is to foster a desire for life-long learning and to make each and every student feel valued and respected inside and outside the classroom.
