Welcome! My name is Meagan Mattice and I am entering my 14th year as an educator. I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with my bachelors degree in education while continuing my basketball career. I have taught grades K through 2nd and have enjoyed each level, however, my favorite has been Kindergarten, where I have spent 11 of my years teaching. I am currently working on completing my National Board Certification for teaching and coach the JV Girls' Basketball team at Cony High School.
My husband and I have two children, Carson and Mackenzie, who also attend Gilbert school. We spend a lot of our time outside and participating in sports. I love to be around the ocean in the summer, but my favorite time of year is the Fall where I am able to enjoy the beautiful foliage our state has to offer.
Even though this year will look quite different than previous years, I am looking forward to being in my classroom with your children. It will be very important that we follow the CDC guidelines while we are at school. Please continue to have conversations with your child about the importance of this and of wearing our mask in the classroom. On our remote day, I will be using the Seesaw app to post activites and check your child's work. In the unfortunate case we have to go fully remote, this app will become my primary way of assigning and checking work. I will send along login info and passwords to families.
If you have questions/concerns, the best way to reach me is via email, which I have also provided below.
