Capital Area Technical Center is proud to recognize Allison Brann as an October Professional of the Month for her outstanding achievements, leadership and commitment to excellence in her program.
Allison is a senior from Gardiner Area High School and a second-year student in the Culinary Arts program. She has embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and challenge herself in the kitchen. Allison said she has enjoyed everything about the program—from meeting new people and collaborating with classmates to the hands-on activities that allow her to explore new techniques and flavors from around the world. She is especially proud of stepping out of her comfort zone to compete in the ProStart Management Competition. Her CATC team’s dedication paid off when they won the Maine Competition and advanced to the National Competition in Baltimore, Maryland.
Her instructor, Chef Heidi Parent, praised Allison’s commitment and leadership, sharing,
"Allison is an outstanding example of what it means to be a dedicated and driven culinary arts student. As a second-year student, she consistently demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic that sets the tone for the rest of the kitchen. Allison approaches every task with efficiency, precision, and pride in her craft. Her leadership shines through whether she is guiding her ProStart Management team, assisting with after-school catering events, or mentoring first-year students. I can always count on Allison to uphold the high standards of our program.”
Outside of school, Allison enjoys training at the gym, working as a pastry chef at Rocky Ridge Orchard, experimenting with recipes, and running her own small business, Quick Cooks, which can be found on Instagram at @quick_cooks250. After graduation, she plans to continue her studies in Pastry Arts at Southern Maine Community College, with the long-term goal of opening her own bakery and using her business to give back to the community.
