Josh Lajoie

Capital Area Technical Center is pleased to recognize Josh Lajoie, a junior from Cony High School, as a December Professional of the Month. Josh is enrolled in the Building Construction program, where he has embraced the hands-on learning opportunities the program offers.

Through his coursework, Josh has developed skills in woodworking, including constructing wooden boxes to practice creating precise joints. One project in particular holds special meaning—Josh crafted a box using wood from the trellis that was part of his parents’ wedding, turning a meaningful family memory into a lasting keepsake. Another box was gifted to his grandfather, thoughtfully returning a similar gift his grandfather had once given to him.

Outside of CATC, Josh is an active student-athlete, playing both football and baseball for Cony High School. He plans to return to CATC next year to continue building his skills with a second year in the Building Construction program.

Building Construction instructor Mr. Thomas Holzwarth shared, “Josh brings a strong work ethic and a positive attitude to the shop every day. He takes pride in his work, pays attention to detail, and puts real thought into his projects—especially when they have personal meaning. He’s a great example of what hands-on learning can do for students.”

Congratulations to Josh on being named CATC December Professional of the Month!
