Leahna Rocque

Capital Area Technical Center is proud to recognize Leahna Rocque, a senior from Erskine Academy, as a January Professional of the Month.

Leahna is in her second year of the Early Childhood Education program at CATC, where she has embraced the hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for meaningful careers working with young children. She has especially valued the opportunity to apply classroom learning in real-world settings, gaining confidence and skills that will support her future in education.

In addition to participating in CATC’s student-run preschool, My First School, Leahna has completed field placements at the YMCA and Gilbert Elementary School. These experiences have allowed her to work directly with young learners in a variety of educational environments. Outside of CATC, Leahna continues to build her experience by working at an after-school childcare program. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, an important source of support and inspiration for her goals.

Leahna’s instructor, Ms. Holly Foster, shared the following about her growth and professionalism:

“Leahna exemplifies quiet leadership. She leads by example—showing responsibility, consistency, and respect in all learning environments. Her professionalism is evident in her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to meeting expectations both in the classroom and during hands-on experiences.”

While at CATC, Leahna has been inducted into the National Technical Honor Society and has successfully completed her Behavioral Health Professional Certification. After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year college and continue her studies in
