Jazlene Fournier

Jazlene Fournier, a junior from Cony, is enrolled in the Law Enforcement program and has quickly distinguished herself as a standout student and leader. She values the program’s small class size and close-knit environment, describing the class as “like a family.” Jazlene appreciates the positive culture in the classroom, noting that everyone gets along and that her instructor, Mr. Frost, is a caring and supportive presence who truly wants students to succeed.

One of Jazlene’s favorite aspects of the program is the variety, saying, “it’s something different every day.” She finds the hands-on learning fun and engaging, never boring, and says the program has opened up many new opportunities for her. She has especially enjoyed the field trips, including visits to Central Maine Community College, Togus, and the Kennebec County Correctional Facility, which have helped her better understand real-world career pathways in law enforcement and criminal justice.

Jazlene is particularly proud of her success with SkillsUSA. She and her Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl team earned a gold medal at the local SkillsUSA competition, followed by a bronze medal at the State SkillsUSA Competition, an achievement that reflects her dedication, teamwork, and knowledge of the field.

Outside of school, Jazlene enjoys spending time with her family, especially her brother. She is also an active athlete, playing third base on the Cony softball team.

Looking ahead, Jazlene plans to return to the Law Enforcement program next year. She is considering continuing her education at Central Maine Community College and/or enlisting in the Maine Army National Guard. Her long-term goal is simple yet powerful: to be successful and always be happy.

Her instructor, Mr. Tracey Frost, speaks highly of Jazlene’s character and work ethic. “She is the real deal,” he said, noting her maturity, strong leadership skills, and genuine commitment to the field. He added that Jazlene consistently shows up prepared, supports her peers, and approaches every challenge with focus and determination—qualities that set her apart as a future professional in law enforcement.

Jazlene’s work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to her future make her a very deserving March Professional of the Month.
