The Augusta School Department is seeking substitutes for the 2024-2025 school year. We are hiring substitute teachers, educational technicians, nurses, school secretaries, custodians, and food service workers. We are also pleased to announce a new pay scale effective 7/1/2024. As a result of the storm: Cony MS/HS, Lincoln Elementary, Farrington Elementary, and Gilbert Elementary will have a TWO hour delay. Hussey Elementary will have no school (due to power outages).

We know many homes are still without power and the flooding has caused major damage across the city. You are in our thoughts, and additionally we thank maintenance and custodian crews who have been working endlessly to care for our schools. Most Augusta schools have had power restored and are ready to welcome students back. There will be school on Thursday, 12/21/2023, for all schools except Farrington Elementary (which is still without power).

Out of an abundance of caution and concern for dangerous road conditions and ongoing flooding, all Augusta Schools will be closed tomorrow 12/20/2023.
