Cony staff and School Resource Officer received concerning information that a Cony high school student may have had a weapon in school around early afternoon. Cony Administration and the School Resource Officer quickly began to investigate the concern. The student involved was quickly contained. The decision was made to go into a “lock-in” protocol because the concern could not be quickly invalidated. The Augusta Police responded immediately to help mitigate any safety concerns. It was deemed safe to dismiss the students with increased police presence. School activities were cancelled out of an abundance of caution. It is our plan to resume regular school activities tomorrow with an increased police presence.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Cony complex and CATC went into lockdown today in reference to a concern that the Augusta Police and Cony administration were reviewing. We are all clear to resume dismissal. All 7-12 student activities have been canceled this afternoon.

Cony and the Middle School Parents' group are hosting a Middle School Dance for Cony Middle School students!
There are two Financial Aid Workshop Nights coming up for Senior Parents/Guardians:
November 1 - 6:00 pm at the Randall Student Center at UMA
November 13 – 6:00 pm Cony High School Auditorium.
