From Cony Project Graduation committee...
Hello Cony Nation!
We are excited to announce the Cony Class of 2025 Ice Fishing Derby, an event to support Project Graduation on June 15. We are seeking both parent and student volunteers to help make this Derby a success! Your support will enable us to earn some of the funding needed to celebrate our graduates with the pomp and circumstance they deserve. Don't like ice fishing? Not an outdoors person? No problem! Everyone is welcome, and you do not need any fishing experience! There are a large variety of tasks we require support with, such as parking and registering attendees. if you can donate a little time on March 1, this will be a great help to this Class!
The Derby is on Saturday March 1, 2025 from 4am to 3pm (backup date Sunday, March 2). A majority of the support is needed at the Monmouth Boat Launch from 4am to 10am. Please consider joining us as a volunteer-- sign up today using the link below. We cannot do this without you!
Once you sign up, we will have a special training session and mandatory meeting for volunteers on Monday, February 24, beginning at 6pm, Cony High School, Room 302.
Sign up to volunteer at the Derby here: here:

MPA PRINCIPAL'S AWARD at Cony High School (Augusta, Maine)—Hailey Johnson of Augusta a senior at Cony High School, has been selected to receive the 2025 Principal's Award, Principal Liscomb announced today. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals' Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior's academic achievement, citizenship and leadership. Principal Liscomb commented, “Hailey has positively contributed to Cony High School. We are so lucky to have a student like Hailey at our school. In addition to her high academic achievement, she has been involved in so many of our student organizations and athletics. Hailey plays field hockey and lacrosse at Cony. She is an active member of Key Club, student council, Spanish club, the newspaper club, and has been the secretary/treasurer for her class. She is a huge part of the student based health center. The group finds ways of bettering students' physical and mental health through activities and programs. We are so proud of her and believe that she is so deserving of this prestigious honor.” Hailey Johnson and Principal Liscomb and other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon in April. The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O.
