Gilbert Family BINGO night is next week Thursday January 22nd from 5-6pm. Join us for a fun filled event. We will begin calling the first game at 5:10pm. Prizes, popcorn, and excitement! Student council will be selling candy grams for Valentines day and the PTO will have more raffle baskets to win!
We will also have our lost and found out for final claiming before the items are donated to the clothing closet.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14th will be an Early Release Day. Dismissal will be at 11:40am.

Augusta Schools will officially implement a Remote School Day for today, 1/7/2026.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and predicted road conditions do not allow for safe travel within a delayed start window.
Students and staff will work from home, and the day will count as an instructional day. Elementary students should refer to their Remote Roadmaps for guidance, while Middle and High School students should check Google Classroom for directions and assignments.
As a reminder, district-level information about Remote School Days can be found at https://www.augustaschools.org/page/remote-school-days
Stay safe, and thank you for your support.
Afternoon Pre-K will be at the normal time.

Winter is definitely here, and we’re ready to enjoy it!
Please be sure students come to school with a winter coat, hat, gloves, and boots every day.
Pre-K–4th grade students also need snow pants (and they’re recommended for everyone!).
Let’s bundle up and have some wintertime fun outdoors!

Do you know an amazing teacher who goes above and beyond for Maine students? Nominations are now open for the Maine Teacher of the Year program!
Each year, outstanding educators from all 16 counties are recognized, with one teacher ultimately named Maine State Teacher of the Year and nominated at the national level. These teachers serve as ambassadors for public education and help highlight the incredible work happening in Maine classrooms.
Students, families, staff, and community members are all encouraged to nominate a teacher who makes a difference. Nominations are open through Friday, January 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Self-nominations and family nominations are not accepted.
To nominate an educator, use this link: Nomination Form
Let’s celebrate the educators who inspire our kids every day!

Reminder to our Gilbert Families that Tuesday, December 23rd is an early release day with dismissal at 11:40am. School is closed for vacation from December 24, 2025-January 4, 2026. Students return to school on January 5, 2026.

A heartfelt thank-you to our music team for nurturing that progress, and to our families and staff who came to celebrate with us. Moments like this remind us how lucky we are to learn and grow alongside such incredible students. What a wonderful way to welcome the winter season.

KPAC rehearses in Augusta and performs twice a year—in early December and early May—at Winthrop High School and Cony High School.
✨ Their December concerts are this week!
Friday, 7:00 PM – Winthrop High School
Saturday, 5:00 PM – Cony High School
All three KPAC groups will be performing, with the Wind Ensemble kicking off the concert. Families and community members are invited to attend!
Our students were wonderful audience members and enjoyed hearing highlights of different instruments between songs. A special shout-out to Mrs. Komiega, who was a percussionist in the band, for helping make today’s performance so lively and fun!
Thank you to the KPAC musicians for sharing your talent with us and for your commitment to being involved in the community—we loved having you here!
A special thank you to Mrs. Komiega for helping bring the Community Band to Gilbert today. We are grateful for opportunities like this that inspire our students and bring the arts into our school.
Thank you, KPAC for a memorable morning at Gilbert! 🎵💛
