FY 2027 Federal Funding

The Augusta School Department is committed to transparency and engaging our community in the continuous improvement of our schools. We are pleased to share that the ASD Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) Community Summary and FY27 Preliminary Allocations Presentation are now available for public review. These documents were presented during the June 10, 2026 Curriculum Committee Meeting and Board of Education Meeting.

What is the Comprehensive Needs Assessment?

The Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) is a required process that helps school districts identify strengths, challenges, and areas of need across academic programs, student support services, staffing, professional development, family engagement, and overall district operations. The assessment uses a variety of data sources, including student achievement data, attendance information, school climate data, stakeholder feedback, and program evaluations.

Federal and state education programs require districts receiving certain funding sources to conduct a Comprehensive Needs Assessment to ensure resources are being directed toward the areas of greatest need and will have the greatest impact on student success.

Why Are We Sharing This Information?

The CNA serves as the foundation for district improvement planning and helps guide decisions regarding federal funding allocations and educational priorities. By sharing these findings with our families, staff, and community members, we aim to promote transparency and provide opportunities for meaningful public input.

The FY27 Preliminary Allocations Presentation outlines how federal grant funds may be distributed to support district initiatives based on the needs identified through the assessment process.
