Superintendent Tracy hosted a Leadership Luncheon at Cony High School today, where students shared their perspectives on key issues and ideas for school improvements. The event fostered collaboration, highlighted student pride in their community, and reinforced the district’s commitment to prioritizing student voices in decision-making.


Augusta Schools Nutrition started off the holiday season by spreading our thankfulness and love through scrumptious homemade cuisine for all schools this past week. Click on the Nutrition page to take a gander at the savory offerings.


In October, our district continued to emphasize Wellness and Safety, particularly in supporting and improving staff attendance. A big congratulations goes to Ms. Tarbox and Ms. Hartford from Hussey Elementary for winning the perfect attendance drawing! Superintendent Tracy and Assistant Superintendent Wotton had a fantastic time spending the afternoon with 1st and 3rd graders. A big thank you to these teachers for their dedication and commitment to our students and district!



Today, Cony Middle and High School hosted its annual College and Career Fair, welcoming over 80 vendors who shared invaluable insights about post-high school opportunities with our students. The event featured colleges, universities, military representatives, and local businesses, all eager to help students explore their future pathways. Adding to the excitement, Capital Area Technical Center (CATC) set up engaging stations to showcase the hands-on learning experiences available to students, highlighting skills in trades, technology, and more.

This week, leaders from the Augusta School Department attended the Impact 2023 Annual Summit, an event that brings together community leaders, innovators, and visionaries to shape the future of our region. Jon Millett, Assistant Principal at Cony High School, delivered a presentation on expanding access to quality early learning experiences for children and families in Kennebec County, ensuring a strong educational foundation before entering kindergarten.


Our Augusta School Cafeterias are preparing a Holiday meal with all the trimmings and even a special Holiday dessert for tomorrow November 21st! Be sure to bring your appetite for a delicious lunch that is sure to fill your bellies. Students are free, Adults $5


One of our district's key goals is Wellness and Safety, with a specific focus on supporting and improving staff attendance. To recognize and celebrate our dedicated staff, Superintendent Tracy and Assistant Superintendent Wotton hold monthly drawings for those with perfect attendance. Winners of the drawing have their class or position covered by Mr. Tracy or Mrs. Wotton for an afternoon, giving them a well-deserved break and a little fun for the lucky classrooms!
In October, Mrs. Wotton joined a classroom at Cony, while Mr. Tracy helped run the library at Lincoln Elementary School. Special thanks to Ms. Lewis and Mrs. Thompson for sharing your spaces and for your commitment to our district!



Dr. Kayla Sikora and the staff and teachers at Augusta Adult and Community Education received an award recently for meeting all four Adult Education Performance Targets. We are so proud of all their hard work and commitment to the Augusta community!

Hussey Elementary School recently hosted a fantastic Taco Night! Huge thanks to the amazing Hussey PTO for helping to put on this fun and tasty event. Families came together to enjoy delicious food, laughter, and great company. It was the perfect way to build community and share some smiles.







Superintendent Tracy and SRO Paul Doody greeted some of our amazing elementary students at their bus stop this week! The Augusta School Department is fortunate to have dedicated leadership and community support ensuring our kids feel safe and ready for the day ahead!
